With the door open, peel the protective backing on each strip to reveal the adhesive coating and press it into the inside of the jamb or the stop molding. Install a vinyl or felt-back metal strip, also known as a sweep, to seal the gap between the door and the floor. With the door then closed, measure and cut the sweep to the width of the door. Then permanently attach it to the door so that the bottom touches the floor while also sealing the opening. If the gap is too large, the best option is to get a new door for the home. This can help keep the warm air in the home, while also being eye appealing.
